Profile
Swift was established in 1951 with activities mainly directed at the heavy transport industry.
In 1998, Swift in conjunction with the South African Tank Container Association (SATCA), developed and manufactured a stainless steel manhole assembly for tank containers.
The first prototypes were built in 1999 and displayed at the Marichem Show in Amsterdam in November 1999. Following this, the Swift manlid assembly was again displayed at the Intermodal Show – Atlanta, USA in April 2000. At both of these exhibitions, tank container manufacturers and end users alike expressed an immense amount of interest. Currently Swift produces in excess of 400 manholes per month and has more than 30 000 units in circulation globally.
Due to the very specialised nature of the tank container industry, Swift has invested millions of rands in sophisticated plant and equipment. This investment has resulted in capabilities allowing Swift to service the general stainless steel and aluminium market.
A fully computerised system allows for the accurate tracking of orders from acceptance to invoicing the finished products.
The Management and staff of Swift are committed to producing a high quality product and as a result the Quality Management System is maintained and strictly enforced. Consequently, Swift has established a reputation of delivering a world class product to the needs and expectations of it’s customers at a competitive price.
